Blaze's story

The frost pack they were called and they territory was covered in snow. All the wolves had thick winter fur and most had some splash of withe in there fur. When a pup was born that had red markings the wolves grew suspicious...

"I wont let you take him" Abril pleaded holding the delicate red and white pup close to her. He yawned and she looked down at him with love in her eyes. Talon the pup's father gave her a death glare. "If we do not get rid of him the alpha will." Talon said not looking Abril in the eyes. "But talon... I see nothing wrong with him" Abril said her voice weak from giving birth. The pup sneezed and strangely his eyes were already open. "He is a sign of misfortune and that the god's are angry with us, no normal wolf has red markings!" Talon said starting to yell. Tear's welled in Abril's eyes and slowly she pushed the pup over. Talon took him in his mouth and walked out of the small cave. "Goodbye Blaze my strong curious son" Abril whispered and huddled in the corner of the cave sobbing quietly to herself.

A world of cold surrounded Blaze as he was brought out to the dreary white land that was his territory. He whimpered but his father Talon showed no emotion. Talon kept walking his pale blue eyes on the target ahead, the alpha's den. As they approached a grey and white wolf barked out halting them. "What is your business with the alpha?" He said in a gravely voice. "Ive brought the devil child" Talon said with disgust. The snow covered guard backed away slowly and Talon passed him and went into the den.
Inside was piled with carcasses and The alpha sat in the corner, his mate on the other side of him. He was all white except for battle scars and a golden swirl right beneath his eye. He turned and looked at Blaze with disgust. Talon set him down at the alpha's feet and scampered out of the cave. Blaze whimpered again and tried to stand up but fell right back down. The alpha's mate looked at the pup with sad eyes knowing what would happen. "Violet send for the lead hunter" The alpha said with no emotion. "His mate got up and nodded to him. "I hope this is the right decision Convel" She said bowing to the alpha and walking out of the cave.
She came back with a strong very big grey wolf and a pure white wolf with a slash through his eye. The two bowed to Convel and looked forward. "Ash you will execute the pup" The alpha said to the grey wolf. The white wolf looked worried "No master that is not the way of the gods" He said urgently "They sent me a vision, this pup should be left far far from here, left to nature's grip" The shaman of the pack nodded fiercely.

Blaze was once again picked up in the jaws of a wolf, but this time it was the lead scout, a small slender wolf built for speed. He took off at a sprint facing the never ending white. Blaze's eyes stung from the cold and he was tired from everything. He slowly drifted off into a light sleep. His eyes would open every once in awhile but he would fall back asleep. When he awoke fully it was a bit warmer and there were more trees. The lead scout kept running without fail. Suddenly the scout stopped and turned his head from side to side. He gently set the pup down in a clearing of trees and whispered "Be brave young one"He disappeared back into the forest. Blaze whimpered and awaited his fate.

The snow on the ground was up to Blaze's belly and he was shivering badly. He couldn't smell any wolves but scents of bears, rabbits, and other animals filled his nose. Just then the smell of a wolf reached his nose. Blaze's ears perked up and he tried to bark. The lone wolf that was traveling pass him heard it and instantly knew it was a puppy. The she-wolf rushed to the sound and if it wasn't for the red in Blaze's fur she wouldn't have seen him. Without giving it a second thought she picked up the small pup and brought him to the cave she had found and was living in. She set him down and curled her self around him. Blaze smiled at her and lay down wrapped in warmth. "You poor pup" She whispered. Blaze looked at her intently. "M..o..m" He said in a very delicate voice. She shook her head sadly remembering her dead pups, it had been a hard winter. "Murrock, I am Murrock."

She cared for him and eventually Blaze forgot about his real father and mother and the past that separated them. Blaze didn't need milk for long and mostly ate meat. Time passed by and Blaze grew into a strong young wolf. While Murrock grew older and weaker...
"Tell me again how you found me?" Blaze asked Murrock his eyes twinkling. Murrock smiled at him and shook her head "Some other time" She said looking at their food supply. Blaze noticed her look "I can go hunting, Ive been practicing" He said pouncing on a near by bug. Murrock hesitated "I suppose, but I have to go with you" She said standing up and stretching. Blaze looked disappointed but instantly perked up. He trotted out of the cave and lifted his snout to the wind. He smelt nothing but looked back at Murrock and said "This way." He turned going down wind. Murrock saw no harm in it and followed after him shivering. The animals seemed to be no where and Blaze knew why when he heard the roar of a great grizzly bear.

It had a hunger in it's eyes that told Blaze he was going to die. He backed away slowly whimpering. "Blaze what's the matter?" Murrock said as she caught up. She saw the bear and she protectively stood over Blaze. "Dont run, stay with me" She whispered to him. The bear looked around lazily and looked down at them. Murrock lunged out biting at the bear's throat. The bear roared but was chocked off. It began to cough and it threw it's paws around blindly. When the light was fading from it's eyes one of it's paws finally hit Murrock in the square of her back. She let out a cry of pain and blood trickled down her grey fur. She fell to the ground in a heap. Blaze whined out and started to charge the bear. "NO BLAZE STAY" Murrock said weakly before a huge paw came down on her throwing her into the nearest tree. The bear moaned and fell to the ground dead. Blaze ran to Murrock and looked at the grey lifeless eyes that stared back at him. Her body was cold. Blaze's guardian, his fake mother, his best friend was dead... "Go Murrock, Go become an angel, and you can finally meet your pups" Blaze whispered as he lay his head on her dead body.

Time crept by slowly after the death of Murrock. Blaze blamed himself and was always in despair. The birds seemed to stop singing and the sun seemed to stop shining. After about a year of despair and the same routine everyday Blaze got sick of it. He left unsure of where he was going but being alone for so long was getting to him. He walked for hours on end only stopping to watch other animals jealous that they had some one to call theirs. He finally realized the the greens around him were thickening and the weather was getting much warmer. The warmth made the skin under his thick fur crawl but he liked seeing all the plants. Just to hear himself he tried howling "A croak came out of his lips and he looked down sadly. He could of spent another day sitting their in his grief but the smell of wolf brought him to his feet.

Blaze came upon a den site where he saw a young pup and an enchanting she wolf playing. He couldn't resist meeting them. he stepped from the bushes and bowed "I am Blaze"

The pup was raffiel and the she wolf that Blaze couldn't take his eyes off was Khora. He was immediately drawn in by her love for the pup and her kindness. They let him eat some of their food and the whole time Blaze was trying to hide his excitement. It had been so long...
