Re: The Choices We Face
"Java the hutt." You respond, giving them a fake name. The man give you a face, but doesn't turn you in for your little lie. He made a weird noise as he translated the name to the Invaders. They responded with that weird language, and then shoved the antsy man when he hesitated to translate. "They..." He stammered. "They want. To know to know to know why you sacrificed yourself for those pe-people." He studdered, a blade was drawing close to his back as he spoke, fear made him shake even more. You...?
------------
*...Refuse to respond?
*...Tell him you didn't want others to die?
*...Tell him you wanted to die actually?
*...Tell him to go die?
*...Tell him your reasons are your own?
*...Tell him they had no reason to die?

Re: The Choices We Face
So sorry for the delay >.< And it's number 6)
"What reason did they have to die?" You ask him, instantly taking the threatened man by surprise. He makes a gurgling like sound as he responds to the Invaders, who the nearest one seems angered by your response. It growls at you, lifting its head up in a manner of showing it was stronger. Ignoring its obvious attempt to intimidate you, kept one talking. "I'm not kidding here, there were three convoys. Three. There was enough room if that first one hadn't taken off with such minimal passengers. So answer me this, what reason did they have to die?" The man's eyes paled, knowing he'd be in more trouble if he didn't translate then if he did. With enough seconds to pass between the gurgles and growls to the chirps and angered responses, he seemed to go from stressed to hysterical. The translator and the Invaders appeared to be arguing for minute. Both human to invader, and invaders among themselves. For a brief second he looked like he wanted to die. After all, he was a captive to hostile aliens with superior power and perhaps already eighty percent of his population was under their control or already killed. The rest were lucky or truly survivors. It struck you with curiosity to how both he and that father you'd sacrificed yourself for could understand them.
What had happened to the family anyways? Both of them?
The man stuttered more as he spoke, trying to make out the right way to translate the words. "They... basi-cally said you don't ne-need to know... A-and that you-should-shut up...now...please...Un-unless they ask you a quest-question." His sweaty palms gripped at the end of the bed you were still restrained to. Black eyes giving you a desperate look, he wanted to die. You could tell just from the way he seemed to not really care, he was pulling on a show now. The Invaders were holding something back from him, and he knew it. They had to have something to use as a bargaining chip, otherwise he would have just killed himself already.
There's a beat, and the Invaders argue among themselves once again. They make gestures and begin to bump their armored bodies against one another much like athletic men would. It was enough to make you realize the Invaders seemed angrier, more volatile. Maybe you should just get this man killed, it might be the kinder thing to do then to keep him in this torment. Then again he could have answers you certainly needed to know. Plus maybe teach you how to understand the Invaders, at least in the bit.
The man gazed at you nervously, pleadingly. You think it over, all your options and then...?
---------------------------
*...Stay silent?
*...Ask him for info?
*...Swear up a storm at the Invaders?
*...Pretend to be too tired to continue the investigation?
*...Attempt to break free?
*...Attack the man with your free arms?
*...Attempt to kill him yourself?
*...Grin and remain silent?
*...Start mocking the Invaders?

Re: The Choices We Face
The two choosers chose two)
You press him for info, making his skin pale. "How do you understand them?" Was your first question, and you barely moved your lips as you did so. Your tone was nothing above a low whisper and he gulped. "They embedded their language in me, like they do to others. I was tortured as their language was scoured into my brain." He responded in just as low a tone as you'd asked. The Invaders seem to not notice this bit as they're conversing with one another now, hands making wild gestures at you every now and then. "But there was a man who understood, but he was free." You quietly stated, eyes watching the Invaders warily. "Probably, an escapee." He says back to you. "So why am I alive. Last thing I remember was hitting hard ground with bullets in my side." The question finally came free and the man suddenly seemed reluctant to answer. "Why am I not dead?" You pressed, gritting your teeth to stay quiet. He swallowed, a moment passing before he said, "They think you're special. No one's ever sacrificed themselves for anyone yet. Everyone else has practically lost their Humanity at this point. All of one, and one only. They're animals, shells of what we used to be... So by you jumping in front of those bullets, you saved them. I'm not kidding here, that family is still alive thanks to you." It all came out in a rush, but before you could respond the man pulled back, the Invaders were turning back to face you two. One spoke to the man, and then raised his arm. Next thing you knew, there was a scream, and the man exploded into perhaps a million pieces, guts and bones flying across the room and staining practically every inch of the room. The Invaders turn to you and take a step forward. You...

Re: The Choices We Face
(Was hoping it wouldn't just be a single person's vote but the show must go on.)
#4, Wait for them to draw nearer and attempt to break free then?
You freeze, trying to show you had submitted. They still advance, but they seem more like they're smug rather then cautious. Their fatal mistake. The closest one to you grabs at your shoulder, trying to get you to lay back down upon the bed. Instantly you realized this was it, either obey or die trying to live free. Apaprantly you'd chosen to die fighting. You grab its wrist and pull so hard it trips up and falls upon the bed you had been on. The others are now rather ticked with you and dash forward in and attempt to restrain you. Ultimately they ran into one another, a blade swiping down and taking out your restraints. FREEDOM! The thought rang through your head as you started running out the medical bay. Somehow you managed to get down the first hallway before the Invaders were able to even get into the office. You dashed off to the right, heading in a random direction until the hallway split. One to the left heading up, and one to the right heading down. You...?

#2, Head left.
You turn left, your legs pounding against the steep incline as you tried to put an even greater distance between the Invaders and yourself. The ground under you slopes up at such a fast rate you're legs are starting to give out. The mad sprint was taxing to you, and now the thought of slipping and falling prey to the Invaders pushed so much adrenaline in blood that you felt a new burst of speed and strength. You at last crest the slope, and find yourself in an old Human apartment building. Apparently the Invaders were building their locations underground. "No wonder no one found their base of operations." You mutter to yourself. Looking around you see that there is three doors in the apartment hall. One on the right, one on the left, and one straight ahead. The one in front is further away, and looks as if it leads to a lobby. The two on either side are both labeled with a set of numbers. The sound of Invaders following you with a fierce passion echoes up the sloped hallway you've just exited. You don't have time to think, you must simply...?

Re: The Choices We Face
You dash forward as quickly as your adrenaline will allow, and shoulder your way through the door. It crumbles as if old and rotted, and you land in a pile of broken wood upon the ground. Taking a moment to catch your breath and clear your head, you shuffle to your feet and run out the now long single corridor in your sights. There wasn't a single light to illuminate your path, and slowly you feel as if the corridor was endless. As you reach what you hope is freedom, an Invader shouts behind you and something whistles past your face. You stop running, feet begging you to stop charging long enough so as to avoid smashing right into the newly arrived pile of goop before you on the ground. However, you weren't quick enough, and your feet get stuck in the pile. You stop moving, and struggle to get free as ten Invaders charge down the long corridor to recapture you. Looking around, you spot a small trap door beside you on the ground. There's also a door just within arms reach from the goop you're stuck in. You..?
-----
*... Reach for the trapdoor?
*... Reach for the door?
*... Try to break free of the goop?
*... Surrender and hope the Invaders won't kill you?
