This definitely didn't seem like the same girl she met earlier. "So you say you don't remember a thing. Is that correct?"

Pantera looked down as if pondering something. Should I kill her or keep her? I do need more people. Wait, that's it! "I am sorry about the knife. I was making sure you weren't trying to trick me. But since I know that you are not, I have a proposition for you. Are you interested? I will admit it will take some work and dedication though."

Pantera laughed a bit at this comment. "Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. I was wondering if you would like to become a citizen here in the Mage's land. And to go a step further, if you would, I would like to train you personally and give you a position as my spy. Think you're up to that?"

"Mages are a group of people who can use special powers. We are able to bend the forces of nature at will. I can sense that you are in fact able to do this, therefore making you a Mage." Pantera replied. "I am glad that you accept my offer as well. Do you think you will be able to start your training today? I am very anxious for you."

"Well you never told me your name so I guess we will have to figure one out for you. What do you think you're name should be?" Pantera asked.

"Oh come now, you must have some kind of opinion on what your name is. Your name is your identity. Choose it and choose it well." Pantera said reassuringly.

Pantera smiled. "Very well. Rave it shall be," she said in a friendly tone. Now if you would please follow me, Rave, we will start your basic training now."

Pantera led "Rave" out back behind the building. There was a large field there. Pantera led her out to the middle of the field, stopped, and turned around. "Now then Rave, I am going to teach you my specialty, flame magic. Besides myself, the only other one who knows this technique is my sister and I don't even know if she is alive or not. I believe that this technique could suit you. So, are you ready?" Pantera asked her.

Pantera smiled. "Wonderful. Ok the first thing I am going to teach you is simply how to make a flame in your hand."

"Ok," Pantera started, "concentrate all of your energy to your hand. I want you to visualize the flame, feel it, smell it, all as if it were truly there. Then I want you to release all of that energy at once. That will give you the spark for the flame. Then you have to supply that spark with an energy source to burn from. The most common one is your emotions, however this form is extremely hard to control. For now, I just want you to continue concentrating and sending energy from your body after the initial spark."

"Very good!," Pantera applauded. "Now then keep concentrating, and don't let that flame go out. Now then, I am going to attemp to teach you an upper level flame technique, so don't get discouraged if you don't get it the first time. Now, I want you to send as much energy to that flame as possible. While doing that I want you to keep the flame small by pressurizing it. If done correctly, this turns the flame blue. A blue flame is an extremely hot flame. Try this now."

"Hey," she said. Pantera put a comforting hand on Sam's shoulder. "Don't get frustrated with it so quickly. It is a very hard technique to learn. You probably won't get it the first few times. Don't worry about it." Pantera stepped back. "Now I want you to try it again."
