Xanthe watched the stranger cautiously before slowly walking up behind her. One she was close enough to speak, but still a safe distance, she cleared her throat and said, "Hey there?"

Crystal paused, then turned toward the stranger. She eyed Xanthe up and down for a moment before her tail wagged slowly. "Hello."

"Mind if I get a drink?" she questioned. The female wasn't really all that thirsty, but she hadn't spoken to anyone in quite some time. What was the harm in talking to this new stranger?

Crystal nodded. "Go right ahead. It's not my river." she smiled as she sat down.

Xanthe nodded and walked closer, watching the stranger out of the corner of her eye. She didn't seem threatening. Nor look threatening in any way. The brown female stepped up to the waters edge and lowered her head, lapping up the water quickly.

Crystal watched the stranger with big, curious eyes. She hadn't seen another wolf in a long time.

Bo-Bo, with Erebus somewhere close behind, reached the pass. The elk they had been following were on the other side of the water that flowed beneath the natural bridge. He flicked his tail to point out the six visible elk to Erebus.

Erebus hungrily licked his lips, eyes glewed to the first elk he noticed seemed a bit weaker. An older cow, a slight limp in her right hind leg. "That one there, do you see it?" He questioned Bo-Bo, ear flicking towards the slightly separated cow.

"Yeah..." Bo-Bo whispered. "I'm going to go scare her and chase her even farther from the herd." He crossed the bridge before Erebus could reply, and crept up to the cow silently. He figured he wouldn't stay hidden for long due to his rather obvious pelt. He was surprised he hadn't already been spotted. He barked, and jumped at the female elk. Bo-Bo managed to land a bite on her side, but fell when she ran off in fright.
(Maybe we should start using that dice button for hunting and stuff... I always wondered what it did...)

(Typically it's used in combat between people. But sure if you want to.)

Erebus followed Bo-Bo with his eyes, trailing the way he moved and then finding it still impressive that he wasn't seen. The moment the wolf had leaped, Erebus took off like a bullet straight at her. His fangs were bared in a menacing snarl to disorientate it, and then he lunged straight for her throat as she reared up in fright to turn in another direction.

When Erebus showed up, Bo-Bo started to run in circles around the elk to keep it unsure of where to focus her defense. A kick from an elk could be deadly if aimed at the right place.

Bo-Bo's attempts at keeping her confused were working, and soon the old weak cow gave a shrill sound as Erebus nipped her legs, backing her rear backwards. This time however, she fell over, landing on her back with both her stomach and neck exposed. "Now!" He snarled, lunging straight for the throat.

Bo-Bo was at the elk's stomach in an instant. He savagely tore into her guts, listening to the pitiful sounds coming from the dying cow. It gave him such a rush... Such power. It made him feel great.. Until it was over and he was just tearing at a dead carcass.

"Woah, steady yourself there." Erebus said to Bo-Bo as he pulled back from the limp cow and saw him simply continue to ravage the corpse. "It's not springing back to life anytime soon." Erebus assured him, noting the brightness in the rainbow wolf's eyes as he had attacked it. The guts were spilled out onto the ground, wasting a decent amount of good food for the young because of how soft it was. "Tsk, that's a let down."

Crystal saw two wolves in the distance and flicked her ears gently as she watched them, before turning her attention back to Xanthe.

"Indeed we should," He agreed, his fangs digging into the soft skin just below the head of the cow. With that kind of grip, Erebus could drag her all the way back to the den. "Get the other half will you?" The growled suggestion came out more as an order.

Bo-Bo nodded and he bit down on the spine near her hips, lifting the body a bit.

Catches the scent of a kill and stumbles along running into two other wolves. I follow them for a while trying to get a feel for their personality and judge rather they are friendly or dangerous. After a while, I feel I can present myself to them and I leave the shurbs that I am hiding in. I yip to get their attention and wait ready to run if needed.

Erebus turned at the sound of yips, and his eyes focus on a little brown pup with a white ear. For a moment, he thought it might have been one of Khora's pups having run off, but quickly dismissed it as the scent was unfamiliar. He laid the neck down, so his mouth was free and his jaw ready to show this pup exactly what he intended. "Who are you?" He demanded, taking a step forward with a wary look on his face.

Bo-Bo grunted as Erebus set his half of the elk down and noticed just how heavy the body was. He let go as well, and looked at the pup.

Windrunner takes a step back pondering the strangers before him, he holds his head high and proud as he declares his name "I am Windrunner," he said with as much force as his small figure could muster, he tenderly puts his injured paw forward and puffs out his chest trying to make himself seem tougher. "And I am here to hunt!" He exclaims in a higher pitch chirp than he wished for.

Bo-Bo smiled. "Oh, that's adorable!" he walked up to the pup, and lowered himself so that he was nose to nose with him. "And also a very brave statement. It's not a good idea to hunt in territory that is not yours, especially when if you can hunt at all, the only things you can hunt are very small things."
