Foxpaw kept running and left a patch of fur to stop him. She congratulated herself at what she did and hid by the fur know he would bolt past.

"Featherstar." He mewed, and took a vole for his breakfast he hadn't had. "We like to give cats the benefit of the doubt around here." He meowed kindly, brown eyes shining in kindness.

Lionpaw stopped at the fur though, and sniffed it with intensity. "Foxpaw..." He growled and looked around trying to find which way she had gone.

Foxpaw leaped out and tumbled out of the brush with Lionpaw.

Lionpaw didn't fight the laugh that came up. He smiled, and then playfully rather then aggressively pushed her off him once they had stopped tumbling. He got on his paws and laughed. "Nice job." He mewed to her.

Foxpaw purred, "Really? Thanks." She had never received praise like that before. She liked her chest in embarassment.

Cloudheart looked at Reedfeather, still back in the hollow. "I have no idea where they just went." She mewed with a blank, shocked face.

Lionpaw nodded, "I thought you had kept running. No cat will expect what you did!" He flicked his tail onto her shoulder and swiped playfully at her ears, beckoning her into a playful fight.

Reedfeather purred, "They shall return soon."

Foxpaw stood up on her hind legs and came down. She shoved him with her shoulder, off-balancing him.

"Nice name..." Onetooth said, and took down a few mice to eat.

Lionpaw growled playfully and rolled to regain his balance. He got up and pushed her over by shoulder her softly.

Eclipsemoon padded back in with a few voles and shrews. "Here, the few prey still out there."

Featherstar nodded at Eclipsemoon. "If you want, you can go ahead and lead a hunting patrol." He mewed to her.

Eclipsemoon nodded and gathered up herself, Phoenixsoul, Sunpaw.

Lionpaw growled playfully. "I think I've won this one..." He purred, his paws on her shoulders and back on the dirt. He grinned wildly.

Foxpaw purred and pushed him off. She sat up and smiled. Her eyes were a bright green. "I believe you did. We should get back to the others," she stood up and started towards the hallow.

He nodded, and followed after her, happy for once in a while.

Cloudheart purred when they returned. "There you are!"

Wasppaw was watching his sister. Her body language was happy and joyful. He hissed in silence.

Reedfeather stood up and purred, "Who won? From what we saw you both should be warriors."

Foxpaw's face lit up. They said it! She might become a warrior.

Lionpaw's eyes gleamed. "Really!" He mewed with joy. He didn't want to boast then, he was fine with them thinking it was a tie. "We tied actually. Figured we outta get back to you guys." He gave Foxpaw a quick, 'don't tell them' look and then looked at Cloudheart for approval. She could be a hard nut when she wanted to.

Foxpaw slightly nodded. "Let's get back to camp," Reedfeather mewled.

"Accually, may I hunt?" Foxpaw asked.

Reedfeather nodded and walked away with Wasppaw a tail length behind him.

Cloudheart smiled slightly. "Go see if a patrol is out already." She mewed to Foxpaw. Lionpaw yawned in satisfaction. "I'm going to talk to Featherstar when we get back."

Foxpaw nodded and took off. He likes me! Why does Lionpaw like me? This is the only time I've really talked to him. she shook it off and decided to hunt by herself.

Lionpaw followed Cloudheart as she padded away to the camp and when he returned he was ambushed by claw and fang. He quickly rolled back as a white and orange cat pinned him and he blinked in the spotted pelt of Dapplepaw. "Wha- What are you doing!" He gasped out, kicking her off from him with his hind legs.

Sunpaw walked into camp with a large squirel hanging from his jaws. He was fallowed by his father and Eclipsemoon.

Foxpaw walked in shortly afterwards with a crow and a thrush.

Dapplepaw hissed at him, not giving him a full answer and stalked away into the apprentice's den. Lionpaw looked at Cloudheart who seemed just as confused, she shrugged and continued to Featherstar.

"Dapplepaw," Sunpaw bounded over to his sister, "What is the matter?" His ginger pelt was a musky red in the dimness of the den.

Wasppaw snickered at Lionpaw and padded to the medicine cat den.

Dapplepaw hung her head, "I... I was hunting earlier and saw Lionpaw and Foxpaw play fighting. But... they way they acted. He laughed Sunpaw! He never laughs!" She mewed in distress.

Lionpaw glared at Wasppaw and looked around. The fresh-kill pile was high so he went to Icebreeze's den to check and see if she needed any more herbs.
