Fire and Ashes

Blaze cocked his head to the side, "Sorry..." He muttered, shuffling towards the wolves.

Khora jolted awake, "THEY'VE FOUND HIM!" She laughed hysterically, and ran quick as lightning from where she had just been in a deep sleep. She was so fast Raffiel hadn't even blinked three times before she was awake, up and gone. "What just happened?" He muttered to the others.

Erebus growled somewhat annoyed. "Nah, you got separated. Besides I'd do anything for Khora." He then quickly remembered that Khora and the white red male were mates and added. "She is the healer after all. Wouldn't want her to get angry with ya." Hoping not to upset the wolf, he didn't want to fight. He knew he had better chances given his past and Blaze's condition, but that would really make Khora angry. Why do you care about her happiness so much? He questioned himself.

Blaze narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth to speak but a coughing fit attacked him. When he was done coughing all he did was let out a barely audible growl. Blaze closed his eyes lightly and smelt the wind, "Where's Khora?' He croaked in a cracked voice, still closing his eyes.

"Khora left to go help Blaze. Jeez Raffiel! That was, like, so three seconds ago! Try to keep up!" Holo barked jokingly. "You'll probably want to go after her, huh?"

Amparo smelled two people go and stood up. "Why are they leaving? Was someone found?"
Holo tapped Amparo's paw for a yes.
"I wonder who it was..." Amparo said, cluelessly.
Holo stared. "I REALLY wish he wasn't deaf. I swear, if I find out one day he was faking it all this time...!" she went off after Lunar calling behind her "COME ON YOU GUYS!"
Amparo smelled Holo leave too. He whimpered. Now only Raffiel was with him as far as he knew...

Raffiel jumped, laughed, and grew excited, his paws were itching. He nudged Amparo to follow and then took off with a sudden blaze of grey fur.

Erebus got back to his paws, avoiding Blaze's gaze. He had to seem like he wasn't a threat, then the only ones who would suspect him of what he planned would be Raffiel and Lunar. And they were still pups, older pups, but still pups. And their claims could be dismissed by a misguided adult any day.

Khora was half way there, having to slow down from the pangs in her belly. "Sorry pups..." She whispered, and paused to take a breath. She could taste Blaze's scent, though mingled with ash and smoke, but it was his. Hope swirled in her and she picked up the pace, settling with a slow jog, as she weaved her way through burned shrubs and fallen tree logs.

Amparo felt Raffiel nudge him, and he followed after him as best he could. He let Raffiel get a bit ahead so that he could just follow the scent. (Ehhhh... I might change it so that Amparo isn't completely deaf, but just has REALLY bad hearing! Like... Everyone whispers hearing. :3)

(That'd be cool. I had a dog like that. But she was actually deaf in one ear and the other almost. She hated when we woke her up by accident.)

Raffiel excitedly followed his mother's scent.

Khora jumped over another felled felled tree and found herself nose to nose with Blaze. Her paws grew hot and she smiled with glee. "Blaze!" Her voice sounded childish with the high pitched squeal that followed. She licked his nose in glee and nuzzled him. Her voice sounded chocked with emotion as she spoke again. "I was terrified you were dead..."

Erebus watched with shock, first at how she had arrived and then her reaction. A deep part of him wanted to be Blaze there, with Khora happy to see him and licking his face. Then he caught himself and wondered why he felt that way.

Lunar smiled at the scene.
Dodge grunted and spoke with a certain sarcastic sourness to his voice, "Ok, I guess she found us first.. No need to follow me."

Rowan smiled as Khora and Blaze saw eachother again.
Jay ran after all the others. She was better now having coughed all the ash out of her lungs.

Amparo smelled Khora and a few others he recognized, as well as some not so familiar scents. "We're pretty close..." he barked, and started to slow down. His weak lungs were already struggling to breathe. "You go on running, go see your mother..." Amparo panted, and he slowed all the way down to a walk.

(I just realized i have a Massive fear of elevator doors! Ive almost died twice!)

Rowan stood next to Holo. "Im glad everyone is together again," he licked her ears.

Holo licked his neck, and smiled again. "Hey there..."

Amparo took a raggedy breath, and kept walking. "I hate this so much! My lungs have always been weak... I'm surprised I haven't fainted or anything yet. Maybe I'm getting stronger..."

Rowan smiled and lucked her ears. "Hey," he replied back.

Amparo had finally almost reached the other wolves... He passed out only a few yards away.
