Athena nodded, "Good." She said as she hit the dirt off her knees. "There's to few of us already."

Spring stood up, "Well, now that we've blown up the place we've been living... Where do you guys plan to go to now?"

Athena shrugged. "Where ever my head will stay dry and the zombies don't get me. I'll be mighty happy. How about another sky scraper roof top? I saw one with a green house rooftop that a way." She pointed to the west.

Spring nodded, "And how do we plan on getting there? Look down at the streets, they are covered with zombies. We wouldn't make it 1 minute down there."

She bit her lip. "Uhm how about, oh see that over there!" She pointed at what looked like an old metrotrain track. "We can run across that apartment roof top and climb onto it with each other's help."

Spring thought about it for a moment. "Yea, I think that could work."

Athena traced its path with her finger and eyes. "It runs right next to the green house building." Shen then thought with a growl in her belly. "If its not all ruined, maybe it will have veggies?" The prospect made her belly rumble louder.

Spring nodded, "Alright, then lets go." She started walking on the roof toward the track.

A young man with scars across his cheek and blood dripping from his side wandered through the forest just outside the city.

Athena nodded, held tight to her tommy gun and followed closely behind, always checking for any nearby zombies.

The apartment roof and the building they were currently on didn't have much of a gap between each other, only 2-3 feet. Spring hopped over onto the apartment roof, clinging to her backpack as if it was everything. Which in many ways, it was everything to her. She led the way toward the metro train tracks.

Athena found an easier way, her legs far to fatigued from the dead sprint from the building before it exploded had made her legs shake. She knew she wouldn't land right on the other side, so she found three boards long enough and stretched the across and simply walked it on a bit of an incline.

Spring walked cautiously. Who knows how secure the roof of this apartment building was? If they were to step in the wrong spot, they could fall through.

Athena stopped, coughing painfully so. Her eyes grew dry and her throat felt like sandpaper. "Hey, anyone got water?" She asked them, wheezing between fitful coughs.

Spring turned around and started walking back toward Athena, "Yes, I've got some in my bag." Spring sat the bag down and unzipped it, moving things around until she found the bottle of water. She stood up and handed it to Athena.

Athena gave her a thankful nod and took it without hesitation. She gulped it all down mighty fast, her throat and eyes felt a bit better, but it was still scratchy. "How long do you think we'll have before zombie's catch our scent? That is if that's how they do it." She placed the empty bottle in her bag so they could refill it if they found clean water along their trails.

"Probably not long, so we need to hurry. My guess is they will all be gathering here soon. That explosion must have attracted their attention and soon this place will be covered! I think once we make it onto the tracks, we make a run for it to get as far away from here as possible."

Athena nodded, "That sounds good." She said, and then wiped her face dry. Why am I sweating so much? She wondered, and coughed a few more times. "Ugh if anybody finds cough drops, I want 'em." She said, a half joke though she did mean it.

Spring laughed at that, "That's fine with me. Ok, come on, we gotta hurry." Spring picked her bag back up and started jogging on the roof top, headed toward the tracks.

Athena, with a bit of effort, hurried on after her and looked around carefully. Anything like a zombie she would aim at until she realized it wasn't. She bit her lip as her legs started to really hurt. "Come... on..." She whispered to herself, she shouldn't have been that tired. But every second more she felt..... worse.

Zombies were flooding into the destroyed building, not realizing that it was still collapsing around them. A few pieces of roof fell down and crushed a swath of them. But in the midst of the zombies was a girl, she had long black hair, and brown eyes. She looked perfectly human and alive, and startlingly familiar. But as the zombies sniffed at her, they moved on, and the girl pulled back her face to reveal a horrid zombie. It changed faces to match Spring, and Dyven. The body contorting as well. It stopped as a girl the three hadn't met, and started after the humans.

Spring reached the edge of the apartment buildings where the tracks were and asked, "So, how were you planning on us all getting up onto those tracks?" At this point, the tracks were up a bit higher than their heads.

Athena threw a few ideas around until she settled on this one. She could see a few boxes next to the edge of the roof they were on. "We could move those close enough and climb up them." She offered, and ran over to the first one she saw. As Athena bent down to pick it up she was surprised by how heavy it was. "Man, I need some help here." She said, waving for someone to come over.

Spring rushed over and grabbed the other side of the box, picking it up fairly easy.

Athena gaped at her strength, but didn't hesitate to begin to move the box over to where it belonged. She planted it her side down the moment she got it close enough to metro train track. "Let's hope no one's making a last minute stop." She joked, and then wondered why she was making so many jokes at this time. Maybe to keep her sane?
