Pantera had a surprised, almost shocked look on her face. "Very good Rave! Excellent! It took me nearly a week of doing that to get a blue flame. Very good!" Pantera walked up and patted Sam on the back.

"I guess so. That just make the training all the easier for the both of us. Now the next thing we are going to try is making a flame that isn't directly connected to your body. Now you are going to do all the same steps with the exception of visualizing the fire away from your body. It's that simple. The only thing is is that it require much more energy than creating it in your hand so I want you to concentrate. Once again don't get upset if you don't get it the first time." Pantera instructed.

Sam looked around, thinking of a place. Once finding a spot, she focused all her energy on it, concentrating. This was harder than she thought it would be. A flame appeared in the distance and she began pressuring it, watching it slowly change color.

Pantera smiled. She knew that her new apprentice would try to turn the flame blue. Pantera stayed quiet and watched.

"For some," Pantera said, "however do you remember me making a comment on this style "fitting" you? Because that is just what it does. You have a perfect mind set for this technique."

"Now my sister on the other hand, she had the total opposite kind of mindset needed. I am surprised she mastered it at all. It did take her a little longer, but she did manage to get to my level. But then she found her love for knives and our father kicked her out. Pretty much everyone in the family was inconcurrence, so there was no back lash to this." Pantera looked down. "I think I might have been the only one that even cared if my sister was alive or not. After all, I trained with her. But anyways, we should get back to the training."

Weapon of Choice: He doesn't use weapons a lot, but if he has to fight, he has a screwdriver with a rubber handle. He can use magic, but not very well. Usually only uses it to make his lousy machines work when they're out of power.

Personality: He isn't very good at talking with most people, but once you get him to start talking he might never shut up. Lies come easily to him. He doesn't like to be completely alone, but he also doesn't like to be with people because the only people he ever tried to talk to besides his dad tried to tell him what to do. He doesn't like being told what to do.
Special Skills: He is rather good at making things. He simply gets whatever scraps he can from wherever, and keeps it until he can use it.
Other: He is an orphan. And a hobo. Used to have a dad who taught him all kinds of things, but he died a few months ago. He didn't actually know much about his dad, only that he ran away from somewhere because he didn't like the idea of his inventions hurting others. He lives in a broken down old shack hidden away behind a bunch of trees near some road. He doesn't really know much about it, though. Only gets out when he is out of food or something. Been doing fine simply eating the food out of the garden, setting traps and eating whatever animal gets caught in them, and living off abandoned food from he sometimes finds on the road. He made a machine that responds to him if he talks so that he doesn't get lonely at home.

"That may be so but she broke the law never the less. Mages are not allowed to carry knives, guns, bows, or any other kind of weapon." Pantera replied.

"Maybe not right now," Pantera said, "but mages have magic. Everyone is trained to use their magic for not only day to day use but also for self defence and fighting if need be."

"We learn to use our magic in replacement of tools and certain material objects so as not to take away from the earth. We want to keep this planet as healthy as possible. There is a certain natural balance that the earth has and we believe that if it is upset then very bad things will happen. That is why." Pantera explained this the best she could to her new apprentice.

"I didn't say not to use what the earth gives us. Things such as plants for food and water to drink are completely fine. Even getting stone for buildings is fine as long as you don't disturb the environment around that area. However in order to mine anything, you pretty much have to destroy the environment around where you are mining and it is very hard and sometimes even impossible to restore." Pantera replied calmly.

"Hey, it's ok to ask questions Rave. That's what I'm here for. Now then back to our training." Pantera said. "Since we are on the subject of weapons, I will teach you how to mold your fire into certain shapes. The first thing you need to know is that you can only mold blue fire in this way since it is denser. Now then make your flame in your hand like you did earlier."

"Good. Now then, you are going to make a knife. What you do is you preasurize certain points in the air creating the shape of the knife around the fire. This is done by carefully adding energy around the fire without it touching the fire, otherwise it will expand and you won't be able to control it. At once you have those points pressurized, then you quickly move the points, equally, inwards towards the flame and it will take the shape of the points." Pantera explained.

Pantera laughed a bit at this. "Patience is key with this technique, Rave. If you rush it, you might hurt yourself and/or others around you. But since you seem to handle it fine so far I will teach you to use your emotions as an energy source rather than your personal energy. First I want you to make a simple flame in your hand doing the way I taught you before."
